Our Board of Directors is divided into 3 panels which serve staggered three year terms. New Board Members are elected each year at the Annual Membership Meeting. The “new” Board then elects Officers at the next meeting.
William joined the staff as Executive Director in March of 2019. He came to the Gardens after a 34-year career at Landmark Park, serving 30 years as their Director.
Holman received his B.A. degree in History from Auburn University and his M.S. in Environmental Education from Lesley College while he was a student of the National Audubon Society Expedition Institute. This two-year program involved travelling all across the U.S. while hiking, backpacking, canoeing and exploring a wide variety of National Parks, state parks, museums, and more.
He and his wife, Tammi, have two adult children.
Kate is a native of the Wiregrass, living in Enterprise with her husband, Luis, and their young son, Oliver. Kate is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture with a concentration in Nursery & Greenhouse Management. She is expected to complete her Master’s Degree and Certification in Public Horticulture from Auburn University in the summer of 2026.
Kate is passionate about public gardens and the many ways they can serve a community. Kate’s hobbies include spending time with friends and family, attending New Life Pentecostal Church, playing with her corgi Capí and working in her garden.
Betsy has degrees in graphic design & business marketing and has been an avid gardener for over a decade. In addition to being the Greenhouse Manager she is also our resident webmaster and graphic designer.
Her hobbies include spending time with friends & family, reading, playing with her dogs, taking care of her garden & working on her blog Happilyeverafteretc.com.
Luis was born and raised in Enterprise, AL. He attended Enterprise State Community College and Troy University. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, he decided to go back into Landscaping, a career path he started when he was 15 years old. When he’s not working he loves working outdoors, kicking a soccer ball around his son Oliver, or pulling weeds in the garden with his wife Kate.
Corey has a B.S. with emphasis in entomology from the University of Florida. He is the butterfly house manager at DABG where he cares for the butterfly garden and raises caterpillars.
Corey moved to Dothan in 2024 to be near family. He is a trustee at a local church where he teaches Bible study. When the butterfly house closes for winter, Corey does missionary work on the National Trails System.
Liberty teaches life science at D.A. Smith Middle School in Ozark and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Conservation Biology at the University of West Alabama.
She loves working at the WOW Butterfly House because it gives her the opportunity to share her love of science with visitors of all ages and expand her knowledge of native pollinators and their vital role in maintaining our ecosystems.
Tumilia is a Georgia native who moved to Dothan nearly 10 years ago. She is an avid lover of butterflies.
You’ll find her every other weekend at the Wings of Wonder Butterfly House at DABG. During the weekdays, you’ll find her teaching at a nearby primary school.
When she’s not working, you can bet she’s on an adventure, hiking nature trails, searching for waterfalls or visiting lighthouses.
Sierra is a military veteran with a lifelong love of nature and travel. Before joining the Botanical Gardens she had the opportunity to work at a Tennessee State Park where she discovered just how much she enjoyed sharing her love for the outdoors.
When she’s not at the Botanical Gardens, you’ll likely find her reading a good book, trying a new recipe, or spending time outdoors with her family.
She enjoys finding beauty in the simple things. She’s excited to meet our members here at DABG and become part of this wonderful community.
Olivia started working at the Gardens in November of 2025. She is currently a Senior at Headland High School and serves as a school Ambassador. Olivia plans to further her education with a major in Psychology in college. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and watching Formula 1.
