Taking care of the Gardens is a BIG JOB! With over 50 acres of cultivated gardens we’re always working on something… and we can always use your help.
Help with one of our monthly volunteer days and get involved with the community or pop in for a few hours when you have time to spare, either way we’d love to have you. The DABG always has volunteer opportunities for those who would like to help out at the Gardens.
Whether you’re a master gardener or a plant novice, adult or teen… working a 9 to 5 or fitting us in after school we welcome volunteers with all levels of knowledge. We’ll meet you where you’re at and together we’ll grow!
Typically you can expect basic gardening chores such as dead-heading, pruning, weed-pulling or harvesting but there’s also starting seeds, planting new garden beds, and working in the Gardens. Fill out the volunteer form below or call the office at 793-3224 to sign up for your first (or next!) day of volunteering!
DABG frequently hosts events that require many volunteers. This could involve setting up or taking down chairs and tables, assisting or registering guests, serving refreshments, etc.
DABG welcomes volunteers to help with individual gardens. Help is often needed for cleanup and maintenance. This might involve picking up limbs, pulling weeds, pruning etc.
At times, the DABG office staff would appreciate help with mail outs etc. This could include addressing and stuffing envelopes or even light administrative duties, etc.
